Excellent service, very friendly too. Our food was beautiful and my curry was tasty..... My wife's dessert was awesome.... I just wish I had ordered one! Definitely one of the most homely pubs with a gorgeous fireplace and the day we visit there were several very friendly dogs in too. Recommended highly.

C’est la deuxième fois qu’on séjourne ici, et c’est toujours aussi bien que la première ! Bernard et son équipe sont vraiment adorables et nous ont fait sentir très à l’aise dès notre arrivée. La chambre était très jolie, propre et agréable, avec un lit super confortable qui nous a permis de passer une excellente nuit. Et que dire du restaurant ? La nourriture est de très bonne qualité, super bien présentée et vraiment délicieuse. On s’est régalés à chaque repas. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié que vous ayez pris en compte nos précédents avis : le clin d’œil avec le ketchup était très drôle et nous a beaucoup plu ! On reviendra avec plaisir pour un troisième séjour. Merci à Bernard et son équipe pour leur accueil au top.

Christmas Day Lunch What can we say except exceptional in all aspects. All staff were extremely friendly, attentive and efficient. We had an absolutely amazing Christmas Lunch, all home cooked and well presented. It was full but only one sitting so no question of being of being rushed out for the next people. A big thank you to all at the Old Pheasant we will definitely be back to see you in the New Year Paul and Lin P , Neil and B G.

Last minute booking due to issues with work but what a lovely little place! Quaint and cosy with friendly owners, cute and comfy rooms and a delightful selection for the continental breakfast! I slept so well which is unusual for me but the bed was super comfortable and the room just the right temperature for a cold December evening. Hopefully, I will have reason to return. I booked at short notice because of the bad weather and needed to stay overnight, before driving home the following morning. I found the Old Pheasant on booking.com. I was drawn to the excellent price and high ratings. I was allocated a small single room, overall it was fine. The only gripe about the room, was the bathroom handbasin. It was very small, which would not have been a problem, however it had a shelf just above it, which meant I found it difficult to clean my teeth standing up. But overall adequate for the money. The bar is excellent, the food very good and the staff are faultless. I would recommend The Old Pheasant for both accommodation and food.

Had a lovely evening (not staying in the hotel) in this fabulous country pub, just as my idea of a pub should be, cosy with a lovely fire, big leather sofas, bottle of wine and excellent pub food served really well.

This is a review for restaurant only. Mediocre food not home cooked. Gutted as a lovely pub that is local and was really pleased to see had reopened. Staff are amazing and hopefully an off night will try again to see as really hope it's just that.

Very good. We stayed for a couple of nights. The food was good, the beer was good, the room was comfortable. If I had to find fault, it was with the internet which kept dropping out (didn't spoil the stay though).

Last minute booking. Staff extreamly helpful. Lovely property, well appointed, rooms SO comfortable. Food was delicious. front of house and bar staff ( whos name escapes me ...George ??) Exceptional, friendly, naturally helpful. Bernard was so easygoing and terrific to work with...I initially had an issue with credit card on making the booking, Bernard reassured me that my booking was good and can deal with everything on arrival. An exceptional stay. Deffinately be back next time im in the country. Will BVi

We stayed for one night on way to Cambridge and was well impressed with everything about the place Inc food and service, will hopefully be back for a few more days next time we were very pleased with our stay.

My wife and I went to the restaurant Beef and Reef at the Old Pheasant in Glaston. The menu offers some good choices, and we were split on ehat to have.The food was marvellous for both of us for taste and textures. What a great start with Scallops and Crab scotch egg, followed by Venison with its rich sauce and Monkfish curry. Service was great, the staff were attentive and efficient without being too obvious. We will definitely go back to try some other menu choices after Christmas.

Fabulous starters and beef main course , so so monkfish curry, but felt harassed by the waitress throughout the our visit into making decisions prematurely when we were the only table in the restaurant area to the rear. Mediocre wine and ended up calling the cab early. The primary purpose of a restaurant Im guessing is not to clear the place as quickly as possible so the staff can go home..

Stayed for Burghley weekend. Great, welcoming, friendly staff; nice, clean rooms with good hot water and shower pressure. Good food. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My partner and i stayed for the evening and it was very pleasant. Room was lovely and clean and the hog roast and cider tasting was great. Live music on in the afternoon and it was a lovely place to sit outside in the sun. The cinnamon buns were a lovely touch and so good. I would go back and i do recommend a short stay. Thankyou to all the staff. Well done.

Whilst the ambiance is very pleasant the food was disappointing and very expensive. Undercooked duck (cold in the centre) and far too heavy fruit sauces spoilt what should have been a pleasant meal. The pasta was dry and rubbery.

We stopped in the hope of getting a light lunch, sandwiches, that sort of thing. It doesn't appear that this is on offer.

Monkfish curry was great. The Burgers were outstanding. Very tasty. Lovely place. Nice atmosphere. Talked to a couple of locals who live around the corner from the pub and they said the Sunday Lunch is amazing too. Spotted a couple of negative reviews recently which surprised me and seem very unrealistic.
